We are a dinghy racing club on the south coast of Fife, less than an hour from Edinburgh and Perth. The bay is sheltered, little affected by the tides and is reckoned to be one of the best sailing areas in Scotland. We have handicap racing on Sundays from March to October with an additional race on Wednesday evenings from May to the beginning of September.
There is an Open Regatta, usually in June, a Closed Regatta in August and five other trophy races which, along with the Series races, makes some 90 races per season.  New members are always welcome and we run an Open Day and training weekends throughout the year to allow people to experience all the benefits that our sport has to offer and allowing them a structured pathway into the activity.

Hi All

Its now only 2 weeks until we can all get back out racing again.

Our first race is on Sunday 17th April at 1,00pm. The schedule will have been sent to your email, but if for any reason you are unable to find this it is always available HERE.

Please check your duty dates and write them on your calendar or in your diary.

We are trialling a new system this year which sees us working with duty teams of 2.

There will be no OOD on shore and all race activities will be run from the water.

This includes a new camera system on shore which will run as a back up constantly monitoring the start finish lines on the course.

We are running a duty training day on Saturday 23rd April so please arrange to come along to this event so that this new system can be introduced to everyone. Timings on this to be confirmed.

Fingers crossed we will be able to run a normal club schedule of events including Open Days and Regatta without any interruption this year.

Some important news items:

The clubhouse will be closed this week to have the ceilings in the main club room and changing rooms replaced. This should be completed by Friday this week.

Our prep day is next Sunday the 10th April and it would be great to have as many people turn up to help to get the building ready for the season, timing to be confirmed later in the week.

This year we are having a Season Opening social event at “The Aurrie” on Saturday 16th at 6.00pm. This is a simple Curry night with where we can all get together and reacquaint ourselves with each other and chat about the sailing season ahead. If you are interested in joining us then just drop me a and I will add you to the list. The cost is £8.75 per head.

Finally ,we were shortlisted for a Community Project Award at the East Fife Sports Council award ceremony last week and were delighted to be runners up in the category. This was in recognition of the work the club has done in replacing the public slipway at the Orry and also welcoming “The Swans” into the club.

I am really looking forward to seeing everyone over the next couple of weekends and also very excited about getting back racing on Sunday 17th April. (Damm it, I am on duty ).

No excuse for the rest of you though!!!
