We are a dinghy racing club on the south coast of Fife, less than an hour from Edinburgh and Perth. The bay is sheltered, little affected by the tides and is reckoned to be one of the best sailing areas in Scotland. We have handicap racing on Sundays from March to October with an additional race on Wednesday evenings from May to the beginning of September.
There is an Open Regatta, usually in June, a Closed Regatta in August and five other trophy races which, along with the Series races, makes some 90 races per season.  New members are always welcome and we run an Open Day and training weekends throughout the year to allow people to experience all the benefits that our sport has to offer and allowing them a structured pathway into the activity.

Season 2020

Dear Member

For the second time this season we aim to have the rescue boat on the water this Sunday 18th July  from 12.30 pm to 4pm. This is subject to weather conditions but currently they look favourable. Hopefully, this will encourage more of you to get back on the water.
There are further details on changes below and I encourage you to read these.
Remember, social distancing rules and restrictions, although relaxed, remain in place as set out by the Scottish Government.
Sailing
- From this weekend and going forward we plan to have a safety boat on the water when the conditions allow. This will either be a Saturday or Sunday and will be dependent on tides and conditions. We will review this on a weekly basis and let you know mid-week on the following weekend arrangements.
- There will be only one person on the safety boat. They are there for emergencies only. Please continue to take a cautious approach to your sailing and check your boat thoroughly before launching.
- If you do get into difficulty, they will have no option but to break distancing rules and rescue you.
- A limited amount of marks have been placed on the water. I would encourage those sailing to stay within the area of the marks to better help us manage the safety aspect.
- The rescue boat will be launched and retrieved by 4x4. There will be no need to pull it up the beach.
Clubhouse
- The changing, shower and kitchen facilities remain closed. Please come dressed to sail.
- Members can now use the toilet facilities. Hand sanitiser will be placed on the desk inside the clubhouse. Please use this on entering and leaving the clubhouse as well as washing your hands thoroughly.
- Do not congregate in the clubhouse or on the patio.
- Please ensure that you lock the clubhouse behind you.
Club Boats/Equipment
- The club laser can now be used but with some restrictions
o The boat can only be sailed when the safety boat is on the water.
o You must be able to rig and derig the boat on your own. Due to social distancing it is difficult for someone to help you rig the boat.
o Only one person can use the boat per day (first come first served basis)
o Please check the boat thoroughly before sailing.

o If you find any defective equipment please let a committee member know.
o Be aware of the conditions and only sail if within your abilities.
- If you need equipment such as buoyancy aids or wet suits, contact one of the committee members and we can issue these on a long-term loan basis.
Junior Members
Parents of junior members, if you’re kids want to go sailing. Please contact one of the committee members and we will endeavour to get them on the water.

I look forward to seeing you on the water.

Bruce Birrell
Commodore.
